A fox tail? It's not a coattail?

I taught that same thing to my kindergartens in Science class. We learned it as a coattail though!

It's actually a foxtail that has gone to seed. It's green in the summer, but it's kind of straw colored now. Never heard of coattail--maybe it's a regional thing (different name for the same grass)?

I have, however, heard of cattail, which looks similar but I think the seeds are brown, rather than green or yellowish.

Nice. The monochrome really brings out the texture.

I've no idea whether the plant is Foxtail but it certainly looks like a foxes brush ie tail to me!
Looks good in B&W too.

That foxtail should be flattered. Good one.

You truly are talented in both your writing and using the camera. Someday, you might even land a job at a newspaper as a freelance writer/photographer. Wouldn't that be awesome? I enjoyed talking to you the other day. We had a pleasant conversation. I miss you TONS, and I hope you and yours HAVE A WONDERFUL HOLIDAY! Bless you and take care!

I love the plumes on grasses and this shot is great in monochrome.
