My mom and I went on a little photo safari yesterday in the country. This is one of my pictures. I plan to post more at a later date. I wanted to go way out in the "boonies" for the photos, but Mom wasn't feeling so adventurous. And, considering we were both freezing our tails off, perhaps staying moderately near civilization was a good thing! This particular picture was taken across the road from a house. We pulled off at a little turnaround area to avoid trespassing.

The sepia effect works well too.
The sepia is a lovely tocuh on this image.

Thanks, BJ. I like sepia for rural pictures--it kind of gives it a "Wizard of Oz" look. Well, the part of "Wizard of Oz" that takes place in Kansas, anyway.

There's something haunting about this shot. Something that would only work in monochrome.
And even before you mentioned freezing, I thought this looked like a cold scene. Odd how you can get that from a photo, eh?
Just like the press has it's "card," us bloggers need one too: a "blog card." That should give us special access privileges.
I agree with Mojo....these kinds of shots I find haunting.
